SECTOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT 2018: OPENING CEREMONY

On 31st March, 2013, we, the teacher trainees in the Western and Central (WEC) sector met at Bia Lamplighter College of Education to have our ninth edition of our Women Empowerment programme.
The program ran from 30th to 31st March 2018 with the 30th been the arrival day and 31st March been the day for the actual program.
On the morning of 31st March, 2018, delegates met at the college’s auditorium to have the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, stakeholders (CCT, GNAT, ATAG, etc.) were present to give us their solidarity messages.

One of the items on the program outline was the awarding of best female trainees in each college. This awarding programme was the first to be organised as far as our sector is concerned.
The administration of the 2017/2018 academic year decided to introduce this awards scheme as part of the 9th edition of the Women Empowerment. The scheme was introduced so that the best female teacher trainees in each college in the sector would be awarded as a means of empowering the females academically. Each of these female trainees were awarded with a citation and a cash prize. Below are the names and respective colleges of the females who won the awards.
