All glory and honour be unto the Almighty God for His love and mercies shown on all trainees especially Western and Central Sector and has granted us the opportunity to organize a successful General Assembly. I therefore openly appreciate the efforts and co-operation of my faithful Executive members who assiduously worked through rough and smooth times to this far. This report contains the following:

DISCIPLINE

As it is said, ‘Self-respect is the root of discipline ‘ with this the council cautioned the trainees in the sector to be more disciplined and frowned against indiscipline In the Association. No serious indiscipline cases were recorded.

The sector has been able to convene two executive meetings. The first one was held at Takoradi Kwesimintsim Saint Anthony Catholic Church Conference Room and Sector Executive Council meeting at Komenda College of Education to discuss pertinent issues at the sector level and also to familiarize with the various SRC presidents. And by so doing getting the chance to know any challenges they were facing.

Mr. Chairman, to spearhead the affairs of the Association, the Sector Executives Council (SEC) met to plan for the 2016/2017 tenure of office. Two colleges namely, Holy child and Komenda College of Education have been able to celebrate their SRC Week of which Sector Executives attended whereas the other five, we believe will also follow the suit.

The Sector is also working assiduously to organize her years Women Empowerment programme hopefully at Holy child College of Education between the first and third week of May 2017.

 GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Mr. Chairman, all protocols observed, the General Assembly we had at our sector was very successful. It was held at Enchi College of Education from 23rd to 26th April 2017 with all the seven colleges in the Sector being present and I applaud them for their active involvement in all the activities which took place in the Sector.

During this meeting, a mini congress was held to elect a new coordinator for the sector. At the end of everything Honourable Donkor Felix was duly elected by the delegates.

TTAG WEC SECTOR DONATION DAY

The Sector has planned to visit the various basic schools to donate presents to brilliant but needy pupils in the Sector. It will be an initiative that we will undertake to help us solicit assistance for sponsorship.

DEBATE

Mr. Chairman, again the Sector is preparing very hard to organize a debate between the Western and Central Colleges of Education at Fosu College of Education but it is tentative.

Awards have been instituted to honour eighteen students comprising the best students in level 100,200 and 300 respectively from each of the seven colleges in the Sector during congress. We have also decided to award 1st class students during graduation ceremonies of the various colleges within our Sector.

COURTESY CALLS

The executives are looking forward to paying courtesy visits to the two Regional Ministers and some members of Parliaments.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Every college in the sector have been billed with the TTAG dues
  •  We have been able to secure two college buses from Wiawso College of Education and Enchi College of Education.

CHALLENGES

Organizing the aforementioned activities require much money but sponsorships are very difficult to come by.
